Matt sat on the examination table as Dr. Bertram removed a few more stitches from his arm and shoulder. “I’m pleased that you are healing so quickly, but you are going to have a collection of sexy scars to tell stories about.”

“I think it will take more than a few sexy scars for a dorky guy like me,” Matt replied.

“Dorky?”

“Yeah, that is what Freya calls me,” he said laughing.

“She is a good woman, I’m sure she was just joking with you.”

“Yes, she is and she enjoys pulling my leg when she gets the opportunity,” Matt acknowledge.

“Alright you’re all done. But do not over exert that arm or shoulder for a few more days.”

“Doc, can we take another look at your lab before I go?

“Certainly,” Dr. Bertram replied as he led Matt back to the lab.

“Do you have a pad and pencil I can use?”

Matt began taking notes on what equipment and supplies the doctor had in the lab. “Doc, is there anyone in the valley who has any lab experience?”

“Well, besides myself and Allison, there’s a young man from the valley who is a lab tech but he lives and works at a hospital outside the valley, otherwise the answer is no.”

“Is there a building in the village not being used that we could convert to a wet lab?”

“The only building in the village that is not being actively used is the constable’s office.”

“You mean the jailhouse?”

“Yes.”

“Can we go take a look at it?”

“Sure, let me tell Allison we are going out for a stroll.”
